KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The prosecution wrapped up its submission on Tuesday against former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak related SRC International, a former unit of state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Kuala Lumpur High Court Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali fixed Nov. 11 for the decision on whether Najib would be called to enter his defense or be acquitted.

"If there is no prima facie, the accused will be acquitted. But if prima facie is found on any (of the charges), the defense will be called," the judge ruled.

The case involves 42 million ringgit (10.3 million U.S. dollars) deposited into Najib's personal bank account from SRC International, in which Najib faces seven charges including criminal breach of trust, money laundering and abuse of power.

He has pleaded not guilty.

The trial began early April this year with the prosecution calling 57 witnesses to the stand over 58 days of hearings. Among those called include former bankers, officials with the country's retirement fund as well as members of the country's anti-corruption body.

Najib has been slapped with dozens of other charges for corruption, money laundering, power abuse and criminal breach of trust involving billions of ringgit since his ruling coalition lost power during the national elections last year in May.

The former prime minister is expected to face an even bigger trial on Wednesday involving 25 charges, namely four counts of abusing his position for his own financial benefit totaling almost 2.3 billion ringgit (550 million U.S. dollars) and 21 counts of money-laundering related to 1MDB.

Najib's wife Rosmah Mansor and stepson Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz are also facing corruption and money laundering charges, with all of them pleading not guilty.
