SUVA, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Legislative Assembly of Tonga has received two nominations for the country's prime minister-designate, according to a statement on Monday.
The names will be revealed on Tuesday, when the 26 members of the Legislative Assembly meet to elect the new prime minister through a secret ballot.
The Lord Speaker has issued a notice calling a meeting of the 17 Peoples' Representatives and nine Nobles Representatives on Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time.
The representatives will then vote for a new prime minister to replace Hu'akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni, who resigned on Dec. 9. ■
